Cancún, located on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, is a great place to enjoy a nice long beach holiday with the kids.
Ways to get there
At the time of writing this article, there are no direct flights from Saudi to Mexico City of Cancun with Saudia, but they do fly to the main US hubs and you can pickup a flight from there, for example Miami to Cancun is just 2 hours. Remember there could be an hour difference between the US and Mexico, depending on where you are flying from.
Of course you have many options from other cities such as London or Dubia if you want to make the trip even more interesting and break a long flight out of Riyadh. You can go from Riyadh or Jeddah to London, enjoy the many attractions of London for 3-4 days, then fly to Mexico from there or visa versa.
Best time to go
Mexico Cancun has a typical tropical climate like many countries in the region. It is predominantly warm all year, and has 2 main seasons, wet (May – Oct) and dry (Nov – Apr) with June to July being the hottest period reaching the mid 30’s. They also have a hurricane season which generally is between June to October, so before you travel there, check on the weather news if there is one starting. Been there in early October and the weather was ideal, it rained once and heavily for a couple of hours which was entertaining but it was replaced with a rainbow and clear skys.
